Seattle, 2007 ② -Thinking of You-

This is what I want to tell you…

Sue,
I cannot forget the moment when I finally saw you. I was so happy to spend some time with you during my trip. You can tell how much I was excited ;-) Time went so fast, huh? I enjoyed the dinner with you. We kept talking and talking. We had got so many things to talk about, so we even forgot eating, right? It was nice to know about your life and your family. Yea, life is going.
It was lovely to have a cup of coffee with you in the morning as we listened to one of your songs Sade on the day when I flew back to Japan. Like I said, I always think of you when I listen to Sade or Norah Jones. I wish I could be with you more.
You are not only my host mom, but also my good advisor. I think we are good friends as well.
I love you, and I will see you again. Hopefully soon.

Dennis and Ellen,
Thank you for letting me stay in your place while I was there. We first met in Japan, but I could finally come to see you in Seattle! And thank you for inviting me to go out for dinner and celebrate your wedding anniversary. It was so sweet. You know what? You warmed my heart. Just by seeing you caring about each other and holding hands on the street...You are the best couple. Dennis, I loved the food you made. Ellen, I enjoyed going shopping and talking with you. I am so lucky to have got to know all your great family!

Ben,
You helped me a lot while I was in Seattle! Thank you thank you thank you soooooooo much. You gave me a ride many times and planed so many things for me. All my friends called you to reach me, and your cell phone was dying! Sorry about it!!! I’ve got great memories with you; your parents’ anniversary, your university tour, Pump It Up, BBQ, Mariners Game, and salsa dance. Wow, you are such an amazing dancer!! I was impressed with your dance. And thank you for introducing your girlfriend to me. I enjoyed being with her. You’ve found the lovely girl! You know, it is hard to find the sweet girl. You should treasure her ;-) Again, thanks for your great help.

Jon,
I always enjoy talking with you. I cannot stop laughing sometimes, you know ;-) Even though you had to go to work, you spent a lot of time with me. It was fun to play at Pump It up, huh? We were like kids ;-) And of course, I enjoyed salsa dance with you. You are good at dancing! I liked the skillful and complicated dance steps. Let’s go dancing again!

Kelly,
I was so happy to have got to know you! You care about others and bring us brightness. You are such a sweet girl. I enjoyed Mariners Game and BBQ with you. Oh, I loved the brownie you made. I wished I could bring it back to Japan~ And I wished I could have more time to talk with you. Hope to see you and keep in touch!

Joyce, EB, Hamza and Isa,
Joyce: Thank you for your delicious Pakistan food. I had never eaten finger food, so it was very interesting for me. I loved it! I would really love to drink the Chai tea you made. It was the best one that I have ever had!!! And you’ve got such great kids!
EB: Thank you for bringing some food before going salsa dancing. Yea, we were hungry after playing at Pump It Up. And you are a fast learner for dancing! We should go dancing again! Oh, and I will never forget the fresh and delicious donuts we ate ;-)
Hamza: Thank you for inviting us to your working place. I enjoyed a lot as you know. It was fun to watch the “fight” between Ben and Isa, huh? I am glad if you liked the little gift from Japan! It was sweet of you to see me off at the airport. Thank you!
Isa: We spent a lot of time together, didn’t we? Pump It Up, BBQ, card game, that interesting exercise, Wii and so on. I was impressed with your Japanese. Maybe one day, we can talk with each other in Japanese? Thank you for seeing me off at the airport.

HeeSun,
We are so like-minded, aren’t we? And our appearances are similar too ;-) I feel I have someone who understands me so well, which is you. I feel great when I talk with you. ALWAYS! Gosh, I am missing you already!! It would be fantastic if we can go travel together someday in the future. Thank you for being there and listening to me. I feel close to you wherever we live. Say hi to your family. Keeeeeeeeeeeep in touch!

Jenny,
Sweet girl Jenny! No wander everyone likes you. I am sooooooooooooooooooo happy to be good friends with you. Did you know how much I was excited to see you this time? I think I am lucky in my friends. You are mature for your age. I cannot believe you are three years younger than me. Thank you for coming to the BBQ and bowling. I also had a great time with you at Bellevue Square. It was funny that we showed up wearing almost same clothes. I will enjoy the gift you gave me. Thanks!

Steven, Joseph, Eric, Hakyoon, Sue, Kevin, Tylee, Tom, Mikaela and Joanna,
Steven: It was nice to see you again and talk with you. It’s been almost two years, huh? I hope you enjoyed the BBQ and bowling. I enjoyed the dinner with you and Eric at the night. Thank you for giving me a ride and the gifts!

Hakyoon and Sue: Thank you for coming to the BBQ. Hakyoon, it’d been a while since we last talked. I had a nice chat with your girl Sue. She is cute and sincere, isn’t she? No wonder you love her ;-) I wished I could have more chance to talk with you guys.

Kevin and Tylee: It was good to see you guys! So, you guys are coming to Japan as an international student pretty soon. Wow, you must be excited. Tylee, you will be the student at the university which I graduated from. You will like it! Kevin, the university which you are going to is also great. You know, your university is the so-called rival of my university, but I’ve made a lot of good friends from your university. Yea, both universities are “good friends”. I hope you guys will have a lot of fun in Japan. We will hang out ;-)
Tom, Mikaela, and Joanna: It was nice to meet with you at the BBQ. Tom, thank you so much for having the BBQ at your place. I could not have a chance to spend my time with my friends without you! Seattle, 2007 ①

I went to Seattle for my vacation. I had only one week to stay there, but I had a really wonderful time with my host family and friends. I felt so warm when I was with them. It is much better to see someone face to face than to talk with him/her through the internet or phone call.

It’s been almost two years since I left Seattle. I was there… my memorable place… I was so excited especially on the plane to Seattle.

What I would really love to do there was seeing my “favorites”, which is my host family and friends, so that I did not see the sights of the city. Well, I did not have to go sightseeing. With my favorites, I had dinner, had a chat over coffee, went shopping, went salsa dancing, had BBQ, went bowling, watched Mariners game, etc…(And I bought LOTS OF souvenirs for my family, coworkers, and friends. Half of my baggage was full of the souvenirs!) I also enjoyed the gorgeous weather of this season.

Doing something with someone special... it is priceless.

I did not suffer from jetlag at all and very much enjoyed being in Seattle, even though I had only 3- or 4-hour-sleep each day. Yea, I was full of energy ;-)

While I was there, many people helped me a lot, like giving me a ride, offering to stay in their places, letting me use their phone, and arranging their time to spend with me. I appreciate what they have done for me. I cannot express how much I thank them.

Thinking of them, I felt sad when I came back to Japan. I wished I could stay longer.

Dear my host family and all my friends,
I love you guys, my host mom Sue, Dennis, Ellen, Ben, Jon, Kelly, Joyce, EB, Hamza, Isa, HeeSun, Jenny, Steven, Joseph, Eric, Hakyoon, Sue, Kevin, Tylee, Tom, Mikaela, Joanna...
I was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo happy to see you and really appreciate all of your supports while I was with you. I'd say I am the luckiest person because I have got to know you. I treasure the lovely memories that I had with you. You guys are always welcomed to come to Japan, or I will go to Seattle to meet with you. I will see you again, promise!
Big hugs and lots of love

My Love = Family

Who do you often think of? I often think of my family, maybe it is because I live far from them.

My parents came to Tokyo today, and all my family spent time together for just one day.

I knew my parents were coming here, so I asked my supervisor beforehand to allow me to take a day off from my work on the day. My brother happened to be off as well. All things got perfect for us to be together!

I took them to Ginza where I used to work in and a little bit familiar with. We had lunch, went to cafe, walked around, went shopping, went to see the movie Pirate of the Caribbean, had dinner together... It was lovely for me. I treated them all because I wanted to do that for Mother's Day and Father's Day. My parents said, "This is so weird. We never imagined to be treated by our kid." Yea, thanks to them, I grew up to be a woman.

Even though we can talk over the phone, it is much more better to be together.
