Thank You Word

“Thank you”…that word made my week at the end…

I had amazingly busy days this week. Since two assistants in my team are away for their two-week mandatory leave, me and one more assistant need to cover all the works of the team. Plus, because of the current bad financial market, we’ve got so many jobs and transactions more than usual. Stocks are going down and market of foreign currencies is rough, etc…clients are worried about their assets and some of them needed to meets the margin calls… We also had to take action plans for that. I was receiving many internal and external phone calls, and making lots of transactions at the same time thinking about the cut-off times. It was so tense and I felt pressure all day long. I came to work earlier, did not have any time to get lunch, and did lots of overtime works. Of course, I got exhausted…

Yesterday, around late afternoon, one sales man (advisor) got a phone call from his client. The client seemed to have a call put through to me. I was so busy yesterday as well, so I just thought negatively like “Did I do something wrong to the client or will I get some complains…?” But what he said was “Thank you. I felt relieved by having your support”, which I never expected to receive the word from the client.

Yesterday morning, the client’s advisor was having off-site meeting but the client needed to talk with him as soon as possible. Then I answered the client’s call and explained all his required documents after looking into some things for him. It was nothing. I mean, explaining and proving services are normal things, though his transaction was kinda complicated.

The client took his time to call me to say just thank you, even though he is also a busy man. He is a top person of a company…

I have seen many top people who are demanding, get bossy, and snobby. But the client I talked yesterday…he was different. I also have not received those kinda warm words recently. That’s why I felt so touched.

Things have been so hectic, but I felt like it was a great weight off my shoulders by getting his appreciation.

Saying thank you…it has strong impact, I think. I realized it. And, I am so happy to make it to weekend after such a long week! I can finally breathe :-)
